Account Manager

Whatever your background, we’re looking for a confident and talented account / client marketing manager to join our strategic B2B marketing agency in Henley on Thames.

We have an impressive client list including household names such as Electrolux, Ideal Standard and Microsoft, are two-time winners of the Oxfordshire Marketing Excellence Awards and have been shortlisted at the National CIM Awards.

Our clients trust us to deliver so you must ooze credibility and be able to demonstrate your experience. You’ll also need to build strong relationships and spot new business opportunities.

Our focus is on strategy, proposition and planning, but the role is hands-on, so you’ll need to be prepared to do some of the less exciting stuff as well.

Our clients and projects are diverse – they’ll expect you to manage all aspects of the marketing mix including strategic brand and messaging development, sales and marketing collateral development, CRM and channel marketing, digital and social media, exhibitions and events – to name just a few.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a marketing management or communications role
  • Ideally a marketing and professional CIM qualification
  • Experience of channel marketing and the technology sector is desirable but not essential
  • A broad knowledge of the marketing mix and its deployment
  • Experience of managing marketing communication activity to a high standard (including budget management)
  • Experience in creating engaging marketing materials
  • Excellent copywriting skills with an eye for detail and the skills to write copy appropriate for the chosen channel and audience. Includes content (i.e. messaging), quality (grammar, spelling, presentation) and proofing skills
  • Experience in using and managing content management systems
  • Experience in originating engaging content and managing the use of this across various social media platforms
  • Be comfortable with technology and able to use a variety of IT systems including email marketing software, Microsoft Office, and be prepared to learn to use unfamiliar creative software and have an aptitude for learning new technologies
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written - understanding the importance of both good team communication as well as good client communication
  • Capable of initiating and maintaining strong personal relationships with colleagues, clients and suppliers
  • Be able to quickly learn our services, clients and their markets
  • Ability to work independently but collaborate across the team as appropriate

Location and Work Environment

Our offices are in Henley on Thames – a short walk from the station and there is plenty of parking available. Candidates should ideally be based locally to the office.

We have a relaxed, mature and flexible approach. We give people flexibility to manage their time (e.g. start / finish times) as long as the client / team are not compromised in doing so. We have a casual dress code.

The office is light and bright and we have nice coffee. When we’re busy there might not be lots of chat but the radio is always on!


  • The salary for the role is negotiable based on experience. Part-time / flexible working is also a possibility for the right candidate.
